Spring term 2026

Concert location: ST JOHN'S CHURCH, HILLS ROAD 7.30pm start

Each rehearsal session involves the following set (A, B or C) indicated just after the date, STRINGS INVOLVED THROUGHOUT

Set A: Woodwind 2.2.2.2 plus contrabassoon; Brass 4.2.3.0; Timpani

Set B: Woodwind 2.2.cor.2.2; Brass 4.2.0.0; Celeste, Triangle, Cymbals, Harp

Set C: Woodwind 2.2.cor.2.2; Brass 4.2.3.1 ; Celeste, Full percussion; Harp

• Jan 8 (Set A) Brahms 3rd Symphony mvts 1, 2 and 4 

• Jan 15 (Set B) Ravel Valses mvts 2,3,4 and 5; Brahms mvt 3

• Jan 22 (Set C) Ravel mvts 1,6,7 and 8; Shostakovich

• Jan 29 Sectionals

• Feb 5 (Set B) Ravel mvts 2,3,4 and 5; Brahms mvt 3

• Feb 12 (Set A) Brahms mvts 1, 2 and 4

Half-term NO reherasal (February 19)

• Feb 26 (Set C) Ravel mvts 1,6,7 and 8; Shostakovich

• March 5 TBA

• NO REHEARSAL ON 19TH MARCH THURSDAY

• MARCH 20 FRIDAY: Rehearsal at ST JOHN'S CHURCH, HILLS ROAD 7.30pm (Set-up 7pm)

• MARCH 21 SATURDAY: (Concert Day at ST JOHN'S CHURCH, HILLS ROAD)

  • Set-up: 5.30pm-6pm

  • Short warm-up rehearsal at 6pm-7pm

  • Concert: 7.30pm
